Here are a few examples of projects I have worked on recently.
COURSE DESIGN
Microcredential: Sustainability and climate reporting
I led a course design for Deloitte Risk Advisory, in partnership with RMIT University, to develop an online course enabling Australian businesses to adopt the new mandatory climate reporting standards. The project involved coordinating 27 subject matter experts including climate scientists, finance and risk advisors, enterprise data specialists and ESG strategists across Australia and beyond; to meet the climate reporting needs of executive leaders and finance functions.
Goals achieved:
A complex co-design process engaging stakeholders from multiple organisations and geographies, yielding a unique, cohesive course that no single subject matter expert could have produced alone.
Media-rich online course, incorporating live expert seminars, tutorials on international sustainability frameworks, self-paced interactivity, and video interviews.
APPLIED RESEARCH
Online assessment experience design research
To support RMIT Online to uplift its assessment interface, I conducted research into the assessment experience for online students, incorporating student evaluation data, student focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and document analysis of existing assessment designs. This analysis yielded 12 recommendations for enhancing the digital assessment interface across portfolios (postgraduate, undergraduate and professional microcredentials).
Goals achieved:
Good practice recommendations for enhancement, drawn from real student perspectives and needs as well as contemporary L&T research and theory.
The recommendations were used to produce an uplifted assessment interface template in the Canvas LMS, reviewed and endorsed by student testers.
New interface resulted in streamlined assessment design and marking workloads for RMIT Online staff.
New interface integrated seamlessly with RMIT Online’s Canvas instance and tech stack.
ORGANISATIONAL CAPABILITY
Leadership and management capability program
Deakin University identified a need for shifts in leadership mindset towards “outcomes-focused management” in the emerging remote/hybrid workplace. I coordinated development of a multimodal leadership program for 500+ professional leaders including virtual group mentoring, live workshops, resource toolkits, and a leadership community of practice via the Teams digital workplace.
